Over 115 million animals – mice, rats, dogs, cats, rabbits, monkeys, birds, among others – are killed in laboratory experiments worldwide for chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testing every year.

More than 50% of fur in the U.S. comes from China, where millions of dogs and cats are often skinned alive for their fur, resulting in them bleeding to death. Chinese fur is often mislabeled, so if you wear any fur, there is no sure way of knowing whose skin you are in.

Zoos claim to breed animals for eventual release to the wild, but breeding programs are primarily to ensure a captive population, not for reintroduction.

At the slaughterhouse, cattle are stunned by a stun bolt into their forehead to render them unconscious. They are unconscious rather than killed, so that their heart will help pump the blood out of the body.

Zoos cannot provide the amount of space animals have in the wild. This is particularly the case for those species who roam larger distances in their natural habitat.

Every major circus that uses animals has been cited for violating the minimal standards of care set by the United States Animal Welfare Association (AWA).
